Oooh redesign! Looks fab - great fonts, very clean!

Fab film too. I've only seen two of his. Drifting Clouds is supposed to be ace too - I have it on video but for some reason don't want to put it in the machine (I got it for £2 in a HMV sale at least two years ago). Kaurismäki's follow up film to The Man..., 2006's Lights In The Dusk, was really poor though... it was too minimal, the main character just too hopeless, too devoid of anything and just too big a loser... and it was pretty short too (78 mins!). It felt like half an idea. Or maybe even a quarter.

You got the brill US poster too - the UK poster was equally great - that rare occasion where both sides of the Atlantic do beautiful ads.

Cakes - don't do it! It almost turned me off all his films, it's that rubbish. It's almost like a lowlights of Man...
Alex - I've wanted to see Cowboys for ages... I keep meaning to get a boxset of his stuff, but he has four and they all seem good.

Thanks, dear boy! As for more Aki, I hazily recall Leningrad Cowboys Go America being fun, if only for the pompadours.

Hey Sneeze -- sounds like maybe just as well Lights in the Dusk was so short! Think we might give it a go, though? x

The Moomins used to thoroughly distress me - something to do with reading them during a fever, I think.

I'm quite besotted with Finland. I read Tove Jansson's Moomin books heavily when I was little, and the combination of stoic humanism and dark humour is compelling. Any chance of a borrow of this film?
